How about financial qualifications?
You must have 100k liquid, 300k net worth. Possibly more in some areas.
Do I need hair care industry experience?
No. In fact most of our Franchisees have no experience in the industry.
Can I keep my current job and still operate my own Sport Clips?
Absolutely. We don't expect or require you to work the business full time. You will hire and supervise a manager to run the day-to-day operations while you provide oversight and leadership. Basically, it's a "manager managed" business.
Will you help me with site selection?
Our Real Estate Team has excellent relationships with real estate developers and brokers. We'll help you analyze prospective sites for their viability, and we'll be with you every step of the way. Another thing you'll find is that developers love having us in their Centers. Our stores attract a highly desirable customer base, and we complement any women's salons they may already have. And even though we're growing rapidly, we still have prime locations available all over the country.
Is financing available?
We'll help you find third party financing options; we have strong relationships with several national lenders. Our Sport Clips model is attractive to lenders, and they like our track record. We are on the SBA registry, which helps expedite SBA loan processing.
I don't know anything about construction. Will you help me build my store?
All Sport Clips are designed by a third party provider and approved by us to ensure a consistent look and feel nationwide. Plans are provided to you that can be used to obtain bids from contractors in your local area. Once your space has been built out, our third party equipment supplier will deliver, greatly simplifying the process and helping you to open as soon as possible.
What about my Grand Opening?
Getting off to a great start is crucial. And here again, we've got years of experience in getting it done right. We provide you with a comprehensive ramp up marketing plan to grow your business.
I'll need a great manager and staff—do you help me find them too?
We have a Recruitment Program that'll help you find a great manager and excellent stylists. Sport Clips sponsors numerous scholarships with the National Association of Cosmetology Schools and works with schools across the country to establish Sport Clips as a preferred employer. We have interview guides and other tools to help you make the right hiring decisions.
Training? I assume you also provide that?
You assume correctly. Our experienced team will give you (and your key staff) classroom and in-store training covering everything you'll need to know about running your own Sport Clips. And then we'll continue to provide training on an ongoing basis. And of course, if you ever have any questions at all about running your business, your Area Developer or a specialist in our home office is just a phone call away. Bottom line—we're here for you every step of the way because, to put it simply, your success is our success.
Once I'm up and running, do you provide ongoing marketing and advertising support?
Absolutely. Our Franchisees contribute to a fund that is used for local, regional and national advertising and sales programs to help you build your customer base. In addition, we also partner with national and local sports teams and NASCAR to help promote your business.
Do you have annual meetings?
Yes, we have an exciting National Huddle (Convention) each spring, and it's full of entertaining and instructive events. It's also a great opportunity to get to know your fellow Franchisees and to trade business-building and best practices ideas with them. Better yet, we also have Quarterly Leadership Training Programs for you and your Manager(s) in your local area that are also popular and well-attended. One thing you'll definitely find at Sport Clips is great team spirit!
